Karissa Smith

Karissa (they/them) is a confidential domestic violence advocate, violence prevention educator, and researcher. Their research aims to promote health equity and improve mental health outcomes of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth who have experienced gender-based violence. Karissa writes, advocates, and leads workshops on topics related to gender-based violence with local, national, and grassroots organizations.
